Financial Services

Financial Services apprentices work in a highly skilled profession and provide support to businesses, helping them to develop and grow. There are many different types of industries and job roles meaning there are plenty of opportunities. Your Apprenticeship will allow you to develop the knowledge and confidence you need build a successful and rewarding career.

What does Kaplan offer?

Kaplan offers four different Financial Services Apprenticeships, each leading to an industry-recognised qualifiaction.

Insurance

Qualification CII Level 2-3 Progression Diploma in Insurance

The Insurance industry involves a number of different services in order to help protect individuals and businesses with their insurance needs. This can include a wide range of risks including car, plane, ships, satellite, kidnap, oil and terrorism.

There are over 290,000 people working in insurance in the UK and insurance is the third largest market in the world. The CII qualification is awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute.

The average time taken to complete the Apprenticeship is 18-24 months.

CII qualifications can be flexible and progression can be tailored to suit your chosen career path.

Apprenticeships may include basic insurance principles, underwriting, claims, market legislation.

Investment Operations

Qualification Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) Level 2-4 Progression Higher level qualifications

Investment operations is part of the Financial Service sector that assists individuals and business with raising capital, with mergers and acquisitions, selling and trading and with retail and commercial banking. The IOC qualification is awarded by the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) and provides an overview of the Financial Services industry and how it is regulated.

The average time taken to complete the Apprenticeship is 12-24 months per level.

Apprentices will gain knowledge of industry compliance, learn reporting skills and be equipped with the knowledge to process investments, value investment portfolios and resolve issues within the business.

The IOC is the first step in the CISI's operation qualifications study pathway and offers access to higher-level qualifications.

Financial Administration (Life and Pensions)

Qualification Level 2 Certificate in Financial Customer Service Level 3 Award in Life or Pension Admin. (Cert. CII) Level 2-3 Progression Higher level qualifications

The Financial Services industry is diverse and there are a range of products that need support including wealth management, life and protection and pensions.

The CII qualification is awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute and the qualification is ideal for those interested in technical, operational and supporting roles as you will gain excellent industry insight and offers development within Financial Services.

The average time to complete the Apprenticeship is 18-24 months.

Mortgages

Qualification CeMAP Level 3 Progression Higher level qualifications

The mortgage industry is a large sector within Financial Services. This area concentrates on advising clients who are borrowing money in order to purchase property either personal or commercial. Many advisers also deliver advice on protection products such as life insurance. The CeMap qualification is awarded by the Institute of Financial Services (IFS) and meets the standard required by the Financial conduct Authority (FCA) of anyone wishing to achieve a 'licence to practice' and work as a mortgage adviser.

The average time taken to complete the Apprenticeship is 18-24 months.

CeMAP is firmly established and widely regarded as the industry benchmark qualification and is developed by employers within the sector.

Apprentices will gain an understanding of mortgage products and how to provide advice to consumers along with regulation and legislation.

How is training delivered?

We offer a blended learning experience with one-to-one tuition on site through your assesser and on site group revision sessions.

We also offer a full online kit of resources including video tutorials, online questions, mock papers, podcasts, worksheets and other useful resources. You use the blend of materials that works best for you.

I've really enjoyed the exposure we've been given. In the first month we got to meet the CEO and other people at that level who don't normally do that kind of thing or meet apprentices.
