AAT
Institute status:
Suspension of all AAT assessments from midnight Sunday 22nd March 2020 UK time and they have voided any assessment that has already been scheduled for a date after 22nd March 2020. They have also pledged to revisit their published schedule for synoptic windows in response to the situation as it evolves further.
EPA is not possible without AAT synoptic exams, although AAT are now allowing professional discussions to be conducted from home.
Our courses and support:
We are looking into the impact on study pathways and will be converting classroom pathways into Live Online courses. The new pathways will likely be extended to a future synoptic window, we will provide details when they are available.
ACA (ICAEW)
Institute status:
The ICAEW have cancelled the June sitting for Professional Level with the expectation that the September sitting will continue as planned.
The July Advanced Level exams will be moving to the end of August (dates to be confirmed by the ICAEW).
For Certificate exams, Pearson VUE centres in the UK have closed as of 20th March for the foreseeable future, and as a result, the ICAEW are investigating alternative ways in which candidates can sit the exams remotely.
The CFAB June EPA sitting has been cancelled. ICAEW will instead offer a September sitting.
Level 7 Apprenticeship completion/End Point Assessments are reliant on the case study exam however this is currently now only 1 month later than originally planned.
Our courses and support:
ACA Certificate
We will continue to deliver ACA Certificate courses via Live Online. We also have flexible online options available for all Certificate subjects.
Our CFAB June EPA course has been cancelled and will be rescheduled in accordance with the revised sitting.
ACA June Professional Stage
Application - We will continue to deliver the Application phase of our June courses via Live Online and we recommend that all students continue to attend this phase of the course.
Exam Preparation (EP) - In order to provide students and clients with added flexibility we will be offering the choice between attending:
- Our original June EP block dates(we will refer to this as “complete plus booster”)
- Revised EP dates which align with the September sitting (we will refer to this as “deferred revision plus booster”)
At this stage, we are planning that EP dates will continue to be offered via Live Online in both cases but we will continue to review the opportunity to offer classroom EP courses.
Free additional booster courses - We will be providing booster content to ensure that students maintain their study impetus during the following periods:
- Students attending the original June EP course and not sitting their real exam until September
- Students attending Application now and not attending their EP course until August
Booster course content will comprise:
- A modular study programme that clearly outlines resources available, time commitment and approach. The programme and content is designed to be as flexible as possible so that students can study as and when needed.
- Recorded, tutor led question walkthroughs of exam standard questions coupled with a programme of correlated question practice.
- Pre revision mock exam with self marking guide so that students can diagnose their weaker areas.
- Recorded pre revision mock debrief broken down by question. Students can use the debrief to zero in on the questions and topics that they found most difficult in order to improve knowledge and exam technique.
- Fortnightly live online drop in sessions focusing on key syllabus topics which will be clearly linked to the modular study programme.
- Interactive MyKaplan activity feed where we will we share relevant updates and additional course content.
You do not need to do anything as all impacted students will be automatically enrolled onto our Booster courses. We anticipate that our Booster course content will go live in June.
ACA September Professional Stage
We will offer our ACA September Professional courses via Live Online and will continue to review the opportunity to bring those courses back into the classroom.
ACA Advanced July
Application - We will continue to deliver the Application phase of our July courses via Live Online and we recommend that all students continue to attend this phase of the course.

The ACCA have cancelled the June sitting for Applied Skills (except Law) and Strategic Professional exams in the UK with the expectation that the September sitting will continue as planned.
For Applied Knowledge and Law exams the ACCA are investigating alternative ways in which candidates can sit the exams remotely.
Level 7 Apprenticeship completion/End Point Assessments are reliant on the SBL exam so this will be delayed until September.
For Level 4 End Point Assessment for Apprentices the June exam has been cancelled and the ACCA are working on potential solutions.

ACCA Applied Knowledge courses and Law
We will continue to deliver these courses via Live Online. We also have OnDemand and Distance Learning options available for all Certificate subjects.
ACCA June courses
Tuition - We will continue to deliver the tuition phase of our June courses via Live Online and we recommend that all students continue to complete this phase of the course.
Revision - In order to provide students and clients with added flexibility we will be offering the choice between attending:
- Original June revision courses (we will refer to this as “complete plus booster”)
- Revised revision dates which align with the September sitting (we will refer to this as “deferred plus booster”)

Question Based Day - Given the real benefit of these courses is as final preparation in the week prior to the real exam we will not run these courses in the normal June window but will allow students who were booked for June to attend an equivalent for September.
At this stage, we are planning that September Question Based courses will be offered via Live Online but we will continue to review the opportunity to offer classroom EP courses.

CIMA
Institute status:
CIMA has put in place a remote assessment mechanism to allow students to continue to progress their studies as normal. The most recent information is as per below:
Exam Dates:
- Certificate of Business Accounting and Professional Qualification objective test exams will commence remote testing on Monday 4 May 2020.
- Professional Qualification May case study exams will take place in the window between 18 – 30 May 2020. Confirmation will be sent w.c. 14th April.
- UK Apprenticeships L4 and L7 EPA1 will take place in May. Confirmation will be sent w.c. 14th April.
Exam Scheduling: Students will be able to schedule online through MyCIMA via the Pearson VUE platform. They expect that the facility to schedule an exam will be ready at least 2 weeks before the first exam, it cannot be done at the moment.
The exam format will stay the same, but the presentation is very slightly different. Take a look at one of the new practice tests (please note: you will need to sign in or create an account and then you can select the free practice test).
CIMA has added more FAQs including technical specifications, room requirements, how to test your computer and more.
CIMA will be using Pearson’s OnVUE system for the objective tests. For more information watch this short video (note: a proctor is the same as an invigilator)
Our courses and support:
For those students who had registered for the May case study exam, students should sit this assessment at home and study using our Live Online / remote study options.
For Objective Test CBE courses, we are converting existing classroom courses into Live Online courses on similar dates. Now that it has been confirmed Objective Tests are available from 4th May, students should take this opportunity to continue their studies using Kaplan’s variety of remote learning options.
ATT
Institute status:
The May exam sitting is cancelled with the exception of ATT Corporation Tax which may take place via remote proctor in late June/early July.
The institute book supplier has shut down and will not be processing orders for the foreseeable future. This means that the following hard copy institute materials will not be available to purchase:
- Principles of Accounting
- Essential Law for Tax Practitioners
- Professional Responsibilities and Ethics for Tax Practitioners
The institute’s Education team is working on a way to provide manuals electronically and will provide an update ASAP.
Our courses and support:
If your students were planning to sit exams in May, we have now cancelled all revision courses for the May exams, and we will automatically defer their course to the November sitting, or to the June/July exam window for ATT Corporation Tax if it goes ahead. Please note the option of June/July dates is only relevant for those who have already entered for the exams. We will provide an update as soon as we know more.

Please note Apprenticeship students will only be able to sit the CTA Application and Professional Skills exam in June/July if it is the only exam they have left to sit. In accordance with apprenticeship rules, students with more than one CTA exam to sit will be precluded from using this sitting as they have not yet passed through the end-point assessment gateway.
