Free event – 8th June 2017, 9:30-1:00pm
Following the recent success of this event in London, we are bringing our Management Development taster session to Birmingham.
This morning event will illustrate how we develop managers – so expect business simulations, practical case studies and interactive exercises.
A 2016 survey found that
We all know managers get a bad press: 20% of them are doing a poor job according to the people they lead; 26% feel they are not ready to lead others; 50% are assessed by their own managers as being ineffective.
Companies invest time and money in management training, and yet, we are still getting it wrong. Kaplan commissioned research in the HR and L&D community in 2016 and one issue emerged clearly:
Managing is the art of allocating resources – numbers, not only people – but the traditional management programmes offer fairly off-the-shelf designs and focus mostly on soft skills. Managers need to develop their understanding of the business as a whole, including the commercial implications of their and their team's actions and decisions.
So, if you need managers who:
- Can manage more effectively
- Understand the business and its policies and practices
- Know how to leverage the connection between different parts of the organisation
- Are able to apply the skills and qualities of management in the workplace.
Then register to attend this event.
