BUILDING TECHNICAL COMPETENCE : Financial Services

Challenge

A global financial institution recognised the need to provide all their staff, from the most junior to the senior leaders operating across Retail, Global Banking and Markets and Wealth Management, with an opportunity to broaden their knowledge across a wide range of accountancy and financial products areas.

Whilst helping them update their essential industry and regulatory knowledge, this was also identified as an opportunity to embed within the intervention a range of professional skills.

Action

Delivered both face-to-face and with virtual classroom training, we have created a suite of programmes from introductory to advanced levels covering Financial management, Business analysis analysis, reporting, Presentation skills, Communication, Risk.

The workshops have been delivered around the world, including Europe, North America, South East Asia, India, Japan, the Middle East and Australasia and everything is managed by a highly experienced Project Manager with overall responsibility for all logistical aspects. We have also designed and implemented an online portal where employees can find information and book themselves in a workshop considerably reducing the administrative burden.

Result

We gather regular feedback through an online evaluation system and periodic conversations with key stakeholders at a group and local level: delegates are showing a deeper understanding of how technical accounting impact the key metrics and, in turn, affect key business decisions.
