Our ACCA Finance Analyst apprenticeship is designed to equip employees with the competencies needed for future success in finance. It focuses on developing strong foundational accounting knowledge combined with high capabilities in digital skills. Our aim is to empower apprentices to make better business decisions, understand current financial landscapes, and contribute to business transformation by supporting teams, implementing efficiencies, and providing insightful financial analysis.

Eligibility

Regardless of age or prior attainment, anyone can do an apprenticeship provided they’re learning new skills and are employed in England, in a relevant role. Kaplan will support you to assess the job role suitability as part of your application.

To do this apprenticeship employers may specify that candidates must have at least a grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in maths and English. If apprentices don't have this level of maths and English, Kaplan offers free resources and support to make sure they develop their understanding and application of the subjects by the end of their apprenticeship.

Apprentices typically have one of the following:

GCSE or other Level 2 qualification
12 months of work experience in the last 24 months if they do not have any other Level 3 qualifications

Months 1-3

Foundations in Data

With a focus on building core data understanding, months one to three develop a solid grounding in essential data principles, leading to the Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel Associate certification.

Creating cells and ranges, creating tables, applying formulas and functions.
Creating charts and objects in Excel.

Months 3-6

Data in Action and Business Acumen

Building on foundational skills, these months focus on understanding how data operates within an organisation and the broader business context, including an introduction to Generative AI.

Data Visualisation using Excel.
Identifying data trends and using this to inform decision-making.

Months 9-12

Database Fundamentals

The focus shifts to understanding and interacting with databases, a crucial skill for any data professional.

Getting data from various sources.

Months 12-15

Data Professional and EPA Readiness

The final phase brings all learning together, focusing on practical application, advanced financial understanding, and comprehensive preparation for your End Point Assessment (EPA).

Preparation and interpretation of basic financial statements.
Demonstrating overall competence as a Data Professional.
