BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis
The International Diploma in Business Analysis is an industry recognised qualification accredited by the BCS, the chartered institute for IT. The Diploma has four modules plus an oral exam:
1. Foundations Certificate in Business Analysis
This 3-day immersive workshop will help learners to gain a broad understanding of business analysis including:
- The role and competencies of a business analyst
- How to identify and evaluate options for improving your business
- Investigative techniques, including interviews, workshops, prototyping and scenarios
- How to categorise, analyse, and manage stakeholders
- Making a business case and assessing feasibility
- How to document, manage and validate requirements.
2. Practitioner Certificate in Modelling Business Processes
This 3-day immersive workshop will help learners to investigate, model, analyse and improve business processes including:
- The context for business process modelling
- The organisational model for processes
- How to model business processes
- How to document tasks
- Evaluating and improving business processes.
3. BCS Practitioner Certificate in Requirements Engineering
This 3-day immersive workshop will help learners to take a systematic approach to eliciting, defining, analysing, validating, documenting and managing requirements including:
- The requirements engineering framework
- How to elicit requirements and techniques to use
- How to collaborate and communicate with stakeholders in the requirements process
- How to write a user story
- Best practice approaches to document requirements
- How to manage requirements
- Validating, prioritising and quality assurance in the requirements process
- Analysing and evaluation of requirements.
4. Practitioner Certificate in Business Analysis Practice
This 3-day immersive workshop will help learners to develop a business strategy, how to explore a business issue and apply a range of business analysis techniques including:
- The strategic context
- How to analyse stakeholder perspectives
- How to analyse and model business activities
- How to identify potential solutions
- How to make the business case.
5. Optional BCS Professional Discussion (oral exam)
Whilst this module isn’t part of the apprenticeship, it is possible to also achieve the BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis. After completing the previous 4 modules, apprentices can choose to arrange an oral exam, which is a discussion with BCS, in order to achieve their Diploma too.
