Financial Services Professional Apprenticeship Level 6

Essential to build robust and long lasting competence, this apprenticeship will empower individuals to become highly competent, developing skills and experience to drive positive improvements.

As part of this apprenticeship, learners will achieve a Chartered Banker (CBI) Advanced Diploma in Banking and Leadership in a Digital Age, the gold standard qualification.

Developed in partnership with globally recognised institutes and organisations of all sizes, a Kaplan Banking and Financial Services apprenticeship is anything but standard.

Ideal for more senior talent within your organisation, who are working in Banks/Building Societies, Asset Management organisations, or Fintech companies. This apprenticeship is designed to best suit individuals with customer and relationship centric roles. It includes the Chartered Banker (CBI) qualification and provides the opportunity for business improvements that drive results.

This apprenticeship will benefit individuals already working at a senior level within a Bank or Building Society, Asset Management organisation, or a Fintech company. Kaplan can also support you in sourcing new talent at this level. Individuals on this apprenticeship will typically be employed in roles such as Relationship Manager (Corporate or Retail Banking), Corporate Account Manager, Commercial Product Specialist, Junior Trader, Financial / Investment Analyst, Operations Manager, Business Performance Manager, Pensions Consultant, or Treasury Analyst / Accountant.

An apprentice’s journey doesn’t end when their apprenticeship has finished. They will also be able to apply for the appropriate level of Chartered Banker Institute (CBI) professional membership. They will be fully competent and able to develop their career within the organisation.

To do this apprenticeship, employers may specify that candidates have at least a grade of 5 GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English. Individuals will likely have A Levels or existing, relevant Level 3 qualifications. If apprentices don’t have this level of Maths and English, Kaplan offers free resources and support to make sure they have a strong understanding of the subjects by the end of your apprenticeship.

Application of Skills

Our apprenticeships are designed for individuals to use their technical knowledge and communicate it within the organisation. Areas of focus for this programme will include strategy and planning, analysis, problem solving, honesty and integrity, communicating and influencing, flexibility, and resilience. Apprentices will have a higher level of competence and confidence to assess potential risk or compliance issues and be able to make recommendations to key stakeholders.

Development Sessions

Every Kaplan apprentice has access to development sessions, relevant to their individual experience and requirements. Delivered by Kaplan faculty, with recommendations from their Talent Coach, these sessions will help focus on enhancing their personal and behavioural development.

End Point Assessment

Apprentices will complete a Structured Panel Interview based on their Portfolio of Evidence. This Interview will focus primarily on the skills and behaviours of the apprenticeship, testing the competence of the individual, the content of the Portfolio, and how well they are performing in their role. The Portfolio includes a range of evidence, including reflective learning, and is created throughout the apprenticeship.

The Work-Based Project demonstrates the apprentice’s capability to deliver key aspects of the role. They will benefit from an expert Coach to help and support their project choice, meet learning outcomes, and give feedback on a draft report.

This is a significant project that contains real activity done in the role and demonstrates many of the aspects of the standard. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage other stakeholders in the business and truly show the learning that has been achieved.
