Research and Analysis Project (RAP)

The Research and Analysis Project (RAP) is the final component of the BSc degree and consists of two separate documents:

  • 7,500 word Research Report (RR)
  • 2,000 word Skills and Learning Statement (SLS).

You are also required to deliver a presentation on your project to your mentor and fellow students in accordance with the Oxford Brookes University’s requirements. This will be conducted entirely online.

You will also need to pay a fee to Oxford Brookes University (OBU) when you submit your project. To find out more about the submission fee please visit the ACCA’s website.

  • Induction

    You will be invited to attend a Live Online seminar with the rest of your group where you will be introduced to the learning platform and also cover the essentials of online learning and studying towards the degree.
  • Lecturecasts/Tutorials

    You will be able to access a range of podcasts designed to support you throughout your research project. Topics range from selecting a project title, to academic research and presentation skills.
  • Project Guide Book

    You will receive an Oxford Brookes University Approved Research and Analysis Project Guide from Kaplan Publishing, which includes a list of recommended topics for your report and extensive guidance notes on how to conduct your research.
  • Project Mentor support

    Your Oxford Brookes registered mentor will give you positive and constructive feedback, guidance and support. They don’t need to be an expert in your field of research but they will be well-informed about the requirements of the Research and Analysis Project (RAP) and the transferable graduate skills you need to demonstrate.
  • Kaplan Online Mentor Team

    Kaplan has an online mentor team, qualified accountants or experienced university tutors, to guide you through your Research and Analysis Project.
  • Online Learning Environment

    You can access all of your learning materials online through Kaplan’s virtual learning environment, MyKaplan.

The degree is only available via Distance Learning. You will be mentored online during your research and your mentor will provide relevant guidance and advice.
