AAT is one of the most popular accounting technician qualifications and takes around three years to complete. You don’t need any previous qualifications or accounting experience to begin, and it’s open to anyone, from school leavers to career changers.
The ACA qualification is an excellent choice if you're looking to become a chartered accountant. It will develop your accountancy skills and technical knowledge, so you can continue to add value to your company. It takes around three years to complete, and you'll achieve a globally-recognised qualification.

Kaplan Cambridge is easily accessible by car and public transport.
Please arrive at college at least 10 minutes prior to the course start time, so you can find your classroom and settle in before the course begins.
Car
From the south via the M11 – Exit the M11 at Junction 14 and follow the signs towards A14 Ely and Newmarket (not A14 Huntingdon). Once on the A14 follow the directions immediately below.
From the A14 – Take the exit signposted A10 Ely, Junction 33. At the roundabout take the exit towards Cambridge along the A1309 Milton Road. Immediately after the roundabout, filter left and take the first left turn, into Cowley Road, and the first left again.
From within Cambridge – Follow the signs towards Milton via the A1309. Immediately after you cross the disused railway line get into the right-hand lane. At the traffic lights (where the entrance to Cambridge Science Park is on your left) go straight ahead, then move into the extra lane on the right hand and turn right into Cowley Road, then take the first turning on the left.
Bus
Bus – From the train station or town centre to St John’s Innovation Centre. Service: Bus No 99 (Green Bus) Babraham/Milton Park & Ride Service. Weekday frequency: Every 10 minutes from 7.15am to 18:00pm, less frequent outside these hours.

Guided Bus – The Busway route connects Huntingdon, St Ives, Sommersham and Cambridge. Routes A and C cover the Cambridge Science Park, which is the closest stop to St John’s Innovation Centre (SJIC). A guided bus from the Science Park to Cambridge Rail Station will take approximately 22 mins.

Train
Cambridge railway station has regular connections from London King’s Cross, Liverpool Street, Stansted Airport, Peterborough, King’s Lynn and Norwich. From the railway station, a taxi ride to St John’s Innovation Centre normally takes 10-15 minutes or there's a regular bus service.

Kaplan Cambridge has many facilities to make studying easier. Bike storage and local bus routes are close by. Facilities include:
Wi-Fi
All Kaplan centres have Wi-Fi broadband, so you can bring your laptop and log on during your breaks if you wish.
Break out areas
Your specific class times will be shown on your course timetable, however it is normal to have a short break during each session and lunch time is 1pm to 2pm each day.
Kaplan Cambridge has a canteen where hot drinks and food can be purchased. There are also food vans outside the building, and Tesco is a seven minute walk from the building.
Parking
There is free parking available on site.
Cycling
Bicycle racks can be found in the front car park, to the right of the building and please see information from the Police on securing your bike safely. Please note all cycles are left at owner’s risk.
Lockers and showers are available. Female showers are located on the first floor above the main reception. The male showers are located at the back of the building, also on the first floor.
The lockers available are for examination students only and are located on the 2nd floor outside unit 3.07.
