Senior Compliance and Risk Specialist Apprenticeship (Level 6)

Senior Compliance and Risk specialists provide specialist input and advice in their areas to senior figures in the business. From solving complex problems to implementing legal or regulatory requirements.

Designed to develop apprentices into fully competent, confident and credible finance specialists, apprentices on this programme will focus on Governance, Risk and Compliance. They will also study towards a qualification from the International Compliance Association (ICA) alongside their apprenticeship.

Developed in partnership with globally recognised institutes and organisations of all sizes, a Kaplan Banking and Financial Services apprenticeship is anything but standard.

This apprenticeship is ideal for organisations looking to develop the talent of aspiring Banking and Financial Services professionals looking to develop their career to the top of their profession.

It’s ideal for more senior talent who have exposure to and influence over senior figures, looking to upskill and develop their confidence in their role. Individuals on this programme will need to complete a business related project and they should already be initiating and implementing risk and compliance policies.

If you’re seeking to maximise the benefit of time used as part of off-the-job training and develop technical excellence coupled with sector relevant skills that can be directly applied to the role, this apprenticeship might be the right option for you.

This apprenticeship will benefit those already working at a more senior role within Risk and Compliance.

Individuals on this programme will typically be employed in roles such as Risk and Controls Manager, Operational Risk Manager, Senior Compliance Specialist, Senior Risk Specialist, Credit Monitoring Manager, and Compliance Manager.

Applicants must be employed in a relevant role to apply.

One of the key things to success is that the job role and Line Manager provide the opportunities, support and relevant work based projects to be able to contextualise and apply the apprentice’s learning back in the workplace, to gain real competency in that area.

An apprentice’s journey doesn’t end when their apprenticeship has finished. Individuals will be able to apply for membership with the ICA and can undertake continuous professional development to enhance their career and stay up to date with the latest standards and best practices of the industry.

In order to complete this apprenticeship, you will require at least one of the following:

You must also be able to evidence that you are learning new skills and are employed in England, in a relevant role. Kaplan will support you to assess the job role suitability as part of your application.

Employers may specify that candidates have at least a grade 5 GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English. If apprentices don’t have a Level 2 in Maths and English, Kaplan offers free resources and support to make sure they develop their understanding and application of these subjects by the end of the apprenticeship. Learners starting their apprenticeship without Level 2 in Maths or English will complete a Level 2 Functional Skills qualification.
