Internal Audit Practitioner Level 4

This apprenticeship is ideal for those who are newly appointed to an internal audit role or existing internal audit staff who’d like to improve their knowledge and understanding of internal audit.

An apprenticeship in internal audit is a real job with structured training. A hands-on job opportunity enabling individuals to progress their career quickly and work towards a Chartered IIA designation.

Developed in partnership with globally recognised institutes and employers and firms of all sizes, a Kaplan Accountancy apprenticeship is anything but standard.

Ideal for professionals looking for a solid grounding in Internal Audit, typically working as part of a team. Individuals taking part in this apprenticeship could be employed in public, private and voluntary sectors. The knowledge, skills and behaviours developed throughout this programme will ensure individuals are competent in undertaking all aspects of internal audit engagements.

The remit of an Internal Auditor can span the whole organisation, meaning they can assess the adequacy and effectiveness of all areas across an organisation including risk management, compliance and finance.

The Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is the recognised professional body for internal auditing in the UK and Ireland. The apprentice will apply for membership of the Chartered IIA at the outset of the Apprenticeship.

An apprentice’s career journey doesn’t end when this programme has finished. Upon successful completion of the IIA Certificate an individual can use the IACert designation, and completion of the IAP leads to award of the Internal Audit Practitioner designation.

To do this apprenticeship, employers may specify that candidates have at least a grade of 5 GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English. If apprentices don’t have this level of Maths and English, Kaplan offers free resources and support to make sure they have a strong understanding of the subjects by the end of the apprenticeship.
