This apprenticeship is a perfect match for someone without any accountancy or bookkeeping knowledge. On this programme they will learn the building blocks of the modern accountant. Not only will they grasp the fundamentals of bookkeeping but we will help them develop those vital skills and behaviours to enable them to put their knowledge into action. Our programme will also deliver those core digital productivity skills with courses in both Microsoft Word and Excel.
Learners on this programme are vital to ensure your Accountancy and Finance practice performs in the most effective way. It includes the AAT qualification and provides the opportunity for them to support the business with essential skills and behaviours to drive results.
Developed in partnership with globally recognised institutes and employers and firms of all sizes, a Kaplan Accountancy apprenticeship is anything but standard.
Who's it for?
Ideal for building the Accountancy talent pipeline within your organisation, this apprenticeship is ideal for new starters in your business who are just leaving school or college, or for existing employees with limited experience who are looking to build their skills in this essential role.
Job roles and career progression
This apprenticeship will benefit individuals already working at a junior role within an Accountancy department or finance function, or Kaplan can also support you with sourcing new talent. People studying this apprenticeship will typically be employed in roles such as an Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant.
An apprentice’s journey doesn’t end when their apprenticeship has finished. This is just their first step to becoming a fully-qualified accountant. The next steps could be to progress onto our Assistant Accountant Level 3 Apprenticeship, Professional Accounting Taxation Technician Level 4 Apprenticeship, or even our Accountancy and Taxation Level 7 Apprenticeship, which would enable them to become fully qualified accountants.
To do this apprenticeship, employers may specify that candidates have at least a grade of 5 GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English. If apprentices don’t have this level of Maths and English, Kaplan offers free resources and support to make sure they have a strong understanding of the subjects by the end of the apprenticeship.
Before starting this apprenticeship, learners must have also passed a two day Bookkeeping course with assessment to ensure they are beginning at a suitable level. This is free for apprentices.
