Kaplan celebrated success at this year's Quality Professional Awards (QPAs), where three members of our team were recognised for their contribution to quality and compliance across the further education sector.

Held at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on 19 June, the event recognised the individuals and organisations whose work helps ensure learners receive high-quality education and training.

For Kaplan, it was an opportunity to celebrate the colleagues whose expertise and commitment play an important role in shaping positive learner experiences every day.

Supporting learners behind the scenes

Our quality and compliance professionals are central to maintaining the standards that learners and employers expect from Kaplan.

Their work helps create effective learning environments and positive outcomes by ensuring programmes meet regulatory requirements while supporting continuous improvement.

While learners may not always see this work firsthand, its impact is felt across every stage of their experience.

Recognised for excellence

More than 500 nominations were submitted for this year's awards, with just 13 winners announced on the day.

Kaplan was proud to see three colleagues recognised for their outstanding achievements:

  • Dani Smith – Winner, Compliance Professional of the Year
  • Tracy Seal – Finalist, Compliance Leader of the Year
  • Jian Bumacod – Finalist, Rising Star of the Year

The acknowledgement of Dani, Tracy, and Jian reflects the expertise and commitment they bring to their roles at Kaplan on a day-to-day basis.

Reflecting on her recognition as Compliance Professional of the Year, Dani Smith said:

"Winning this award is incredibly humbling and a wonderful surprise. I am deeply honoured to be named Compliance Professional of the Year and to be recognised within the industry.

“Whilst compliance work often happens behind the scenes, having its impact celebrated is fantastic. It only motivates me further to keep strengthening our safety net so our staff and apprentices can continue focusing on educational excellence!"

Proud to support the awards

Alongside celebrating the success of our team members, Kaplan was also proud to sponsor this year's awards, reinforcing our commitment to supporting excellence across the education and skills sector.

Representing Kaplan, Melanie Aspinall presented the Quality Champion of the Year awards in both the Universities and Colleges category and the Independent and Adult Community Learning Providers category, helping to recognise outstanding contributions from professionals across the sector.

Continuing to champion quality and compliance

The Quality Professional Awards are an important reminder of the people whose work helps learners receive the best possible experience every day.

Congratulations once again to Dani, Tracy, and Jian on their well-deserved recognition.
