After being announced as finalists for several categories, we were delighted to attend the PQ Magazine Awards again this year.
Professionals in the accounting and finance industry travelled from around the UK to the beautifully bright venue, Salsa Temple in London, to celebrate one of the biggest nights in the sector.

The results…
WINNER: Study resource of the year - Kaplan’s Enrichment and Inclusion weeks won the award
Our Enrichment and Inclusion Weeks were created to provide our apprentices with essential personal and professional development. Through webinars led by industry specialists, thought leaders, and former apprentices, these events cover topics such as insights into career progression, discovering entrepreneurship skills beyond the apprenticeship, such as learning British Sign Language, as well as a focus on wellbeing sessions, and inclusion with communication skills for neurodiverse learners. We aim to promote inclusion in the sector and equip apprentices with the necessary skills and confidence to succeed in their careers and studies.
WINNER: Accountancy Apprentice of the Year - Malachi Swen
Kaplan apprentice, Malachi Swen, won the Accountancy Apprentice of the Year award. His resilience, leadership, and dedication to social mobility make him an incredibly deserving winner.
Prior to this award, we spoke to Malachi about his experience and all the hard work and additional activities that he dedicates towards his career and apprenticeship. We are honoured to support Malachi in his apprenticeship and celebrate his well-deserved success. In fact, he is a former speaker for our Enrichment Week programme, so in essence is a double-winner.

In addition to the two awards we’re celebrating this year, we were also extremely proud to be finalists in two other categories:
FINALIST: Private Sector College of the Year - Kaplan
FINALIST: Innovation in Accountancy - ACCA Finance Analyst Apprenticeship
Our thoughts
After the ceremony, we caught up with Jenny Pelling to hear her thoughts:
“It was an uplifting occasion, and I’m thrilled for Malachi for his highly deserved award. I’m also delighted that the judges have recognised our Enrichment Week and Inclusion Week provision as they provide significant opportunities for our apprentices’ development - the positive impact as a result is outstanding.
My thanks to everyone at Kaplan and beyond who make these weeks the impressive study resource that they are.”
Congratulations to all other award-winners and finalists at the 2025 PQ Magazine Award event!
